Dordogne, Lot, Limousin,
Midi Pyrenees
The Dordogne we all know and love, almost a second home now to
British people with property in France. Perigueux, wild boar, truffles,
pate de foie gras, wine, and restaurants to make any hope of a
slimmer figure laughable. Interestingly enough this area seems
to have had it’s day, and buyers are now looking in the stretch
to the south of the Dordogne down to the Pyrenees where properties
are cheaper.
There are some great bargains to be had, and the area is ideal
for families. Packed full of historical interest and fine architecture,
there is plenty to do in the way of sailing, walking, cycling,
and sightseeing. Even the Pyrenees are within reasonable reach
if you are tempted to go skiing. The only thing missing from this
region is the sea, but there are plenty of lakes and rivers nearby
where you can cool off.
The region can be reached from either Angouleme or Bordeaux to
the North West, or Toulouse to the South. If you are driving then
allow about 8 to 10 hours from Calais.
Similar to the Western Coast area this part of France tends to
be rural, small sleepy villages where you can see the men – and
the occasional woman – playing boules in the evening sun.
We at AMR4France have a wide range of properties to offer you,
so do get in touch and let us know your requirements so we can
keep a watchful eye out for any bargains coming to the market. |
