Lead, asbestos and termite reports

These are something which are required by French law when purchasing a property in France. The responsibility for this lies with the vendor, who will have to pay for such reports where required by the terms of the contract.

The notaire will ensure that these have been included, and you should not of course sign the compromis de vente until they have been carried out satisfactorily. As with all other matters pertaining to the condition of the property it is important that any problems that are brought to light should be dealt with thoroughly, making sure it is specified who will be responsible for any repairs, at what cost, and over what time span.
